Thanks largely to a seemingly endless series of wars, skirmishes and guerrilla battles military equipment is again advancing in leaps and bounds with advanced technologies quickly becoming obsolete and new methods of waging wars becoming increasingly commonplace. One of the most interesting (terrifying) new developments has been the increasing reliance on drones. A drone is basically an unmanned air craft that can be remotely operated from a computer, hand held remote control or satellite link.

Chapter 4 of the army training management cycle is the planning phase. Learn how military leaders use army training FM plans to categorize soldiers into three bands of fitness and how army training management plans are either long-range, short-range and near-term.

The Second World War was a water shed in world history. The European and Pacific theaters are well known, but there is a forgotten theater often referred to as the CBI (China-Burma -India) theater that is not so well publicized. In 1942 the Japanese invaded Burma and occupied it driving the British-Indian forces out of Burma.

Will NATO end up intervening in the Syrian Civil War, or is that out of the question due to all the other players involved; Russia, Iran, Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, and the Arab League of Nation-states? Apparently, there appears to be a military Army showdown with the “Free-Syria” defectors, and these pro-protestor former soldiers are held up in the City of Homs. Oh, but it gets worse, consider if you will that all the civilians who live there are now involved, and if the “Free Syria Militia” doesn’t give up, Syrian Troops have been ordered to bombard the city!

Is it possible to win the ‘War on Terrorism’ asks the peanut gallery during this political season. Well, many would argue that you cannot fight an ill-defined enemy and “Terrorism” is a tactic, not an enemy. That doesn’t mean you can’t have a war against a tactic, you can, first I suppose you’d have to remove the word from every language and dictionary, and delete all the events, until people in the future forget it ever happened – doubtful indeed.

As simple as it is, medals represent something important. It’s a little token that signifies and honors what you have done or accomplished. To our military men and women, these medals should be displayed with pride. Thus, they earn the proper medal mounting that they deserve.

Not long ago, I was debating with someone about the question; is Syria in a civil war or are these on-going protests which started during the Arab Spring merely just very popular protests with folks that have too much time on their hands. One individual explained to me that the culture there is much different and they like to protest, even willing to risk their lives to take a stand, as it shows they are tough minded, and in this way the protestors can gain respect from their fellow friends and neighbors. One acquaintance suggest that the uprisings…

Okay so, there is this big brouhaha over the so-called CIA Drone captured in Iran. The US says that it got itself lost due to a bad satellite link failure, and the Iranians said they shot it down, then changed their story, and said they “hacked it” and then crash landed it. Well, I guess if the ladder is true their hacker pilots need to go back to their super-duper simulator training system they claimed they had built 2-years ago, and learn how to fly?

It is amazing how the Chinese Red Army’s Navy is busy having their students learn about Naval History in WW II, but they have their history all messed up and fail to realize the true strength of America. Most military historians when asked to look at the analytical side of the equation tell us that the US had the advantage of industrial production, which is very true, but that was not the deciding factor, not even close, let me explain. Yes, we had production capacity and we were not lacking in resources such as rubber, steel, and oil as…

Many military historians contend that even before the sucker punch at Pearl Harbor, that the US was the underdog in Naval Power, as it had fewer war vessels than the Japanese, and after the attack even fewer. These same historians of military wars of past periods will have you believe for this reason the US was less prepared for war. Okay, but these so-called historians might be missing a point or to, in their assessment, and it’s most likely the same bad assessment the Japanese made which caused them to be over confident and try such a fool-hardy attack in…
