ADD, attention deficit disorder, is a learning disorder that is often displayed in children by inattention, impulsive behavior and hyperactivity. This disorder is closely linked with ADHD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and if left untreated can have negative long-term consequences for a child such as his or her ability to learn and get along with others. While it’s natural for children to be antsy and excited there are symptoms parents and teachers should look out for that may indicate a more serious case of ADD or ADHD.

The focus in recent years has been to detect learning disorders early on in children. However, many adults also suffer from conditions such as ADD, attention deficit disorder, and ADHD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, but have never been diagnosed. Growing up a few generations ago people who were hyperactive, impulsive and easily distracted were often labeled as difficult, lazy and slackers. The idea that this person may be suffering from a learning disorder did not become popular until recently and has led many adults to question whether or not they had a form of ADD or ADHD growing up.

The human mind is a far more complex and evolving territory for science to discern. Though medical science has evolved to a considerably better position, there are certain problems which it has been unable to solve. However, with probing studies in the fields of neuroscience, the awareness about problems like the Down’s syndrome and Autism has increased among people.

Photonic seizures can be induced by video games because the flickering light causes an improper neuron firing. My son had his first video game induced seizure when he was only 7 years old and the first seizure triggered several more. Because this is a rare disorder, a diagnosis of epilepsy could not be made.
