The United States has a fragmented healthcare system made of many private health care facilities that are largely owned by the private sector. Primary care doctors are usually the first point of entry when there are any health concerns before referrals to any other appropriate health establishment if necessary. There are thousands of insurance companies that cover private health insurance and up until fairly recently it has been very hard to get health insurance to cover autism because it is risky and treatment is very expensive.

Every holiday from New Year’s to Christmas and everything else in between provides opportunities for families and businesses to celebrate. It offers a time for families to gather and do something special and it gives business a chance to increase their revenues.
The holidays are a time of great joy, laughter, learning experiences, sensory awakenings, and fabulous opportunities. Unfortunately, maintaining a holiday atmosphere full of merriment and cheer is not possible to sustain twenty-four hours a day, every day of the week, especially when you have a child on the autism spectrum.

Musicophilia Introduces Bully Basal Ganglia’ Contribution To Self In Autism
Considerations about my daughter’s memory are difficult to express, except to say that for portions of her life the basal ganglia have been the bullies, and this is because her thalamocortical system (self) was hard pressed to know how to categorize all of the motor tapes that were sent along. Dr. Sacks points out that “…the activity in the basal ganglia is running all the time, playing motor patterns and snippets of motor patterns amongst and between these nuclei (aka motor tapes), they seem to act as a continuous, random, motor pattern noise generator. Here and there, a pattern or portion of a pattern escapes, without its apparent emotional counterpart, into the content of the thalamocortical system (aka self).”

Categories of Autism Signs
Autism is a common psychological condition and neurological development disorder that typically affects a child’s social communication and interaction skills as well as being characterized by repetitive or restrictive behavior. Autism alters or changes how the nerve cell synapses connect and organize, therefore affecting the information processing capabilities of the brain. Unfortunately, Autism research still has not discovered how and why this occurs.
Recognizing the Milder Symptoms of Autism
Most individuals tend to focus on Autism as the most severe disorder of all the Autism Spectrum disorders. It is typically triggered by dysfunctional neurological issues that oftentimes lead to dramatic and highly irreversible damage in behaviors, communication skills, physical development, and social interaction. The average age at which the disorder becomes detectable is three years old.
The bombardment of media – the constant viewing of cartoons, animated movies and other media, most of which have a lot of music intertwined is something better avoided in large dose; especially by those identified as being part of the spectrum of autism. These media, in too large a dose, may represent for the autistic child the same scenario as the bombardment that Dr. Sacks talked about with regard to his own musical imagery.
