My Fire’s Gone Out! By Liam O’Connell
MY FIRE’S GONE OUT! is an excellent parable for our times! Best little book! Half hour read, common sense, inspiration, motivation!! Reminds us ‘change’=opportunity. Focus on what matters! Billed as the NEW ‘Who Moved My Cheese’, Liam O’Connell uses ‘fire’ as a metaphor for setting a new focus on what is really important to you, in your life and your work so that you can handle change in whatever guise it presents to you. Through the device of four aptly named little devils, (read the book..) stoking the fires of hell, the story tells how differently each reacts when sudden and dramatic change interrupts the normal flow of their lives.
I was picking up our Persian cat Frosty from the Pet Groomer the other day when I witnessed a scene that made my heart ache. Our groomer is co-located in a Veterinary office building and, while I was waiting for Frosty to come out, all trimmed and pretty, I could not help but overhear a man explaining to the Vet how he was unable to pay the bill for his cat.

This is a business and success classic from 1962. Success is a system. It can be learned from those who have achieved success. In this book Stone recounts his own meteoric success going from poverty to riches and starting out in the Great Depression. He teaches what he learned from life experience, business, his mentors and others who taught him how to succeed in business.
Communicating effectively has always been an important ingredient of success, but many of us still feel we lack the communication skills needed to succeed in today’s world. ‘A Formula For Effective Communication,” is one book that anyone seeking to improve the way they communicate.
True Self-Help Book Recommendation
